Welcome back everyone! I sincerely hope you enjoyed the half term break. As always it is really great to be back at school and it is clear that the children have used the half term well. Take a look at some of the wonderful homework the children have completed! The quality and standard of work is exceptional! Well done David, Kelsey, Damien, Micah and Veronika.
Any parent that have been on the school run this week will have noticed that the school is currently covered in scaffolding. I am really pleased to be able to report that we successfully bid for grants to replace the roof and for a new heating and cooling system to be installed in the old building. Although in the short term there will be some inconvience the long term benefits of having a well insulated roof that doesn’t leak and air conditioned rooms will be fantastic!Work that doesn’t intrude on the day to day life of school will be ongoing but the bulk of the projects will proceed in the summer break. We regularly meet with the project leads to review the progress and ensure that health and safety requirements are being met, however if you spot anything that is a concern please speak to myself or Mr Clark our caretaker.
Before I sign off I recently met the organiser of ‘Clockhouse Celebrates’ which is a local festival that brings together live music, local traders and street food on the 29th June at Venue 28 (by The Spa in Beckenham). Unfortunately the face painter they had booked has dropped out so if anyone can help please let me know so I can put you in touch!
Let’shope the weather improves and that you all have a great weekend.
