Well we have made it to the end of a very successful Autumn term! Our final week has been full of Christmas spirit as Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 gave us the most wonderful performances. The singing and acting was so professional and it was wonderful to discover some new shining stars out there on the stage! Once again my thanks go to all the teachers and teaching assistants for preparing the children so well and for managing to fit all the rehearsals in at such a busy time!
Among the shows we managed to squeeze in a film screening for the children in year 5 who have been working with Jack and Luke form HeyDay. We watched four films: Scary Poppins, Get Bailey, William the Conkerer and Clubhouse Kidz. Each film kept us hooked throughout and made us laugh a lot! They will be available from our website very soon and I highly recommend taking a few minutes out of your busy day to watch them. On Sunday evening the choir, Mrs Rose and I joined the Reverend Couper for the Lessons and Carol Service at St Pauls.
It was lovely to contribute to a community event and the choir received so many compliments about their singing! We are hopeful that next year we may be able to collaborate with the church choir and perform something together. Today has been a day of fun and delicious food. Thanks go to Ava and her team for providing such a wonderful Christmas lunch! In our assembly we shared our favourite memories from a very busy term, sang our favourite show tunes and said a very fond farewell to Miss Matthews who will be leaving us to start her new role as Deputy Manager of St George’s Pre-school and After School Club.
We wish her every success and know she will be an asset to their team. We will miss her very much however we know we will be kept up to date with all her news when she returns each evening for after school club! As the holidays begin I would like to thank you all for your continued support and say that I am looking forward to seeing you all in the new year.
Please remember that Monday 7th January is an INSET day for staff training. The children will return to school on TUESDAY 8th JANUARY.
Wishing you all a very happy and enjoyable Christmas break!
