Turner Prize-winning artist and Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen is currently embarking on an ambitious contemporary art project and Worsley Bridge will feature in it!  Over the coming weeks members of the TATE team will be visiting schools right across London to photograph children in year 3. The class photos will be brought together into a single large-scale installation, capturing tens of thousands of Year 3 school children in a milestone year in their development. Our photograph was taken last Friday and you can see the children being prepared for their shot in the picture above!

Thank you to the many families that joined us on Saturday at our Christmas Fair. I think you will agree it was a lovely afternoon and I am sure you will join me in thanking the PTFA for all their hard work. Community events are so important and it was great to see our community enjoying their day. The fair made approximately £2000 which is wonderful as it will help us to purchase some fantastic resources for our new art studio.

Christmas preparations are well underway as classes begin to rehearse for their performances. Please look out for letters detailing how you apply for tickets and please keep them safe so that you don’t miss out! We need to plan seating very carefully and will only be able to admit ticket holders on the day.

If you are out and about in Beckenham on Saturday the school choir would love your support. They will be performing on stage at the Market on the Green at around 3.30pm. It is set to be a fun packed afternoon finishing with the candle light parade and Christmas light switch on. Please ‘tweet’ your support and vote for Worsley Bridge as we would love to win the sing off!
