RB gave us the perfect start to our week with a wonderful assembly all abouttheir first year at school. Not only did they amaze us by explaining all abouttheir incredible, learning the children performed so confidently. RB what agreat class you are-and Annabel I now know who I can leave in charge when Iam out and about at meetings!

On Wednesday I was lucky enough to join year 5 for their taster morning at HarrisAcademy Beckenham. The morning was designed to allow year 5 pupils to have theopportunity to experience life at secondary school. We arrived onsite and met the secondary teachers in the canteen and then wewere then split into our classes. The group I worked with startedoff with History and I am sure the Harris teacher was as impressed as I was by thelevel of knowledge shown by our children as they learnt about different civilisations.

Following on from History was a problem solving session in the sports hall and themorning ended with a creative writing lesson in the English department. It was afantastic morning and well supported by year 5 parents-thank you all for coming.

As we approach the end of term we will be making this the last week of homeworkand we would like all reading books to be returned to school on Monday so we canundertake a review of our books.

The children will be bringing home their reports on Wednesday this week and I know they are lookingforward to meeting their new teachers on Thursday.

We hope to see you too at the open evening on Thursday from 3.30pm until 5pm.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Williams
