Another busy week has passed by at Worsley Bridge! On Tuesday there was great excitement in Year 2 as the children recreated ‘The Great Fire of London’. During the spring term 2W and 2B learned all about this huge tragedy through their history and geography lessons. As part of their art and DT work the children created ‘Stuart’ style houses which were then lined up across the playground at burnt! The children were able to see the frightening speed of the fire and how in only a few minutes their models were completely destroyed!

Beckenham Fire Brigade were present throughout the event and they reiterated the importance of fire safety. I would like to thank the fire team for coming straight from a call out so they could support us with our work and for the extra time they spent with the children so they all had the opportunity to explore the fire truck and try on some of the kit the men and women wear during an emergency.
