Well another year has come to a close and I would like to say how proud I am of the children for their commitment and hard work over the past year. Their reports were an absolute pleasure to read and I am really looking forward to all their future successes.
Our church service was a wonderful occasion and the perfect way to say farewell to our Year 6 children. They have been an incredible year group and I know that they will be a credit to their new schools. The children created 2 wonderful films that really captured their spirit perfectly and certainly had us all laughing out loud!
Not only are we saying goodbye to year 6 we say a fond farewell to Ms Pilkington who will taking on a new challenge at Harris East Dulwich. It has been a great pleasure to work with Ms Pilkington here and at my previous school. She will be missed but we wish her well in her new school.
Ms Smith will also be off to pastures new and joining Rangefield and Foster Park Schools in Lewisham as their new Family Worker. This is a fantastic promotion for Ms Smith and testament to her great abilities to support the community around her. I know you will join me in thanking her for all her hard work and support over the last 12 years. We shall miss her very very much!
Mr Abrahams has had a wonderful term in 1W and will be spending the summer preparing for his move to France in March (we did try hard to persuade him to stay!)He will be back with us when we need cover but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank him for his support and hard work this term.
On Monday we hosted our second Oscars ceremony. Congratulations to the Oscar winners-Bailey, Hunee, Harley, Connor, Elena, Johnny and Ralph who were voted for by their peers! Your films are absolutely brilliant and made us laugh a lot.
I would like to end by saying a huge thankyou to the PTFA. Not only did the summer fair provide us with a wonderful community day it raised an amazing £2214.16. Thank you so much-this will help us to develop the art room further! In addition Reception held a sponsored scoot to raise money to replace the toilet locks that have been broken. Their efforts raised an incredible £908. Thank you to Mrs Ingram and her team of helpers for organising this very successful event.
Good luck to all our families that will be moving into their new homes and schools in the next few week-we wish you all the best. Have a safe and happy summer and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 2nd September.
