Year 5 Viking Shields

As part of our Viking topic Year 5 had a ‘Viking day’ in which we learnt about the Vikings and in the afternoon we designed and created our own Viking shield. We first designed the shield on paper using examples of Viking shield designs to create our own ‘clan’ design using simple colours and patterns. We then cut out a large circle of cardboard, drew our design onto it then painted the shield. We then posed in a ‘warrior’ pose to display them.
