Year 5 have just returned from an action packed couple of days as they got back to basics with an authentic outdoor experience on their Bushcraft residential trip.

Team building and survival skills were top of the agenda and the children really made the most of the opportunities available. They had many new experiences such as fire lighting, learning how to build water tight shelters, building traps, camouflage and concealment, making their own bracelets using para chord and team building challenges, They also had a lot of fun cooking their own burgers and toasting marshmallows on the open fires they had built.

It was a great few days, building on existing friendships (and establishing new ones), having fun and creating life-long memories.

Parents, don’t be surprised if your children yell "Blood Bubble’"whilst peeling the carrots, or wish to light the barbeque for you using a flint and steel!

A huge thank you to Miss Corbett and Mrs Walker who came with us.
